Educational Qualification: A Graduate from any UGC recognized university will be eligible to apply. A candidate pursuing graduation or awaiting final result need not apply.

Preference may be given to a candidate possessing knowledge of various cultures, histories, flora and fauna of Assam and other North Eastern States and also the places of interest and importance.
The candidate must have adequate knowledge (reading, writing and communicating skills) of the official language of the State of Assam (Assamese).

Selection Process: Written test and viva-voce.

1. Written Test (OMR based objective Questions with Multiple Choices) of 2 hours duration of 120 marks.
2. i) 100 questions carrying 1 mark each on: General English, General intelligence and General Awareness besides special reference to Assam and other North Eastern States.
   ii) Official language of the state of Assam (Assamese): 20 questions carrying 1 mark each which will be qualifying in nature, qualifying marks shall be 40% of 20 i.e. 8 marks).
3. viva-voce: 20 marks

Application Fee: The details of application fee to be paid by the candidates are indicated below. Persons with disability (PWD) need not pay fees.

SC/ST: Rs 150/-
All others: Rs 300/-
