No of posts: 4500 posts
1. Lower Primary: 2900 posts
2. Upper Primary: 1600 posts
Scale of pay: Pay Band – 2 (PB-2) @ Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay and other allowances as admissible as per “The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019”.
District-wise vacancy: The district-wise, medium-wise and category-wise break-up of vacancies showing the reservation for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen etc. will be notified & updated in due course of time.
Nationality: Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam .
Age Limit: A candidate must not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 40 years as on 1st January 2025.
Age Relaxation: The Category-wise age relaxation for different categories are as mentioned below:
1. Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
2. OBC/ MOBC: 3 years
3. SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
4. Persons with Disability (PwD): 10 years
Small Family Norms: No person having more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 from a single or multiple partners shall be eligible for appointment as per the Govt. policy on Small Family Norms .
Medium of Instruction: Either the Language-I or the Language-II of both ATET and CTET candidates shall match the medium of instruction of the school, wherein the candidate wishes to apply
ATET/ CTET Qualification: The candidates who have passed ATET/ CTET for Lower Primary / Upper Primary will be eligible for applying.
Educational Qualification: Post-wise educational qualifications for each posts are as mentioned below .
Assistant Teacher (LP)
Qualification:
1. Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
2. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
3. Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary School.
Assistant Teacher (UP)
Qualification:
1. Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
2. Graduate from the UGC-recognized University.
3. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
4. Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
Science Teacher (UP)
Qualification:
1. Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
2. B.Sc. from the UGC recognized University.
3. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
4. Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
Hindi Teacher (UP)
Qualification:
1. Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
2. Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from the UGC-recognized University.
3. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education.
4. Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary School.
