Name of course/s: 3 Year Diploma Course/s
Academic session: 2024–2025
No. of State Government Polytechnic: 26 Nos.
No. of Diploma programmes: 22 Nos.
Total No. of seats: 4425 seats
As per the official notification, there will be no Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) from the session 2024-25 onwards.
Admission into the various polytechnic courses under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, will be based on the marks obtained in the HSLC Exam with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.
Educational Qualification: Candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination in single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.
Candidates also must have passed individually in both Theory and Practical examinations in Mathematics and Science.
Required minimum average percentage in Mathematics and Science is as mentioned below.

Age Limit:
The category-wise maximum age limit as on 31st December 2024 is as given below.

Application Fee: The application fee of Assam Polytechnic Admission is Rs 300/- plus bank charges as applicable.
Payment Mode:Online: Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking .
Offline: Through Cash Deposit form from State Bank Collect in final step of Online Application.
How to Apply:
Intending and eligible candidates who are permanent citizen of Assam may follow below mentioned steps to apply online for admission into Diploma Courses in the following State Government Polytechnics of Assam for the session 2024-2025
Documents Required for Assam Polytechnic Admission
Interested candidates are requested to keep ready following documents.
1. Permanent residents certificate [P.R.C.]
2. Caste certificate for all candidates except Un-reserved Category.
3. Non-creamy layer certificate – for OBC/MOBC and also six communities under OBC/MOBC.
4. Grandsons/grand-daughters of freedom fighter: Certificate issued by from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister or from Home and Political Department and relationship certificate from concerned Deputy Commissioner.
5. Son/daughter of retired defense person: certificate from the Director, Rajyik Sainik Board, Assam.
6. Son/daughter of central government employees: P.R.C.- from the concerned state authority outside Assam and service certificate of father/mother from the concerned authority located in Assam.
7. Physically Handicapped ( PH)/ Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Identity Card for differently abled issued by the Social Welfare Department, Assam.
8. Economically Weaker Sections [EWSs]: Valid E.W.S. Certificate.
9. Tuition Fee Waiver [TFW]: Annual Income Certificate issued by the authority not below the rank of Revenue Circle Officer.
Sports quota: Certificate from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam.
