Gauhati High Court Recruitment 2019 [Judicial Assistant]

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up of 16 posts (1-clear, 15-anticipated) of Judicial Assistant in the Principal Seat of the Gauhati High Court in the usual scale of pay(PB-2)Rs. 14000-49000/-and Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/- plus other allowances as admissible under the rule. The number of vacancies shown is indicative only and may vary at the time of final selection.

i) Graduate from a recognised university.
ii) Working knowledge of computer

Selection Process: Written Examination and Viva-voce.

Written Examination : Written Examination (OMR based Objective type multiple choices) for 120 marks of 2 hours duration.

a)  General   English   (50   marks),   General    Knowledge   including Computer Knowledge (30 marks), General Aptitude (20 marks).

b) Official language of the state of Assam (Assamese):20 marks (which will be of qualifying in nature and qualifying marks will be 40% i.e. 8 marks). Marks obtained in Assamese language segment will not be counted in preparing the merit list of written test.

Viva-voce: Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates for 1 post) in order of merit on the basis of the marks obtained in the written examination shall be called to appear in the interview/viva-voce.

On the basis of the total marks obtained in written examination and viva­ voce the final select list will be prepared. The High Court reserves the right to fix cut off mark, if any, for the written test.

Where more than one candidate, obtain same grand total marks, the candidate who  obtains more marks in the written examination will get preference. Where the marks obtained by such candidates in the written examination are also same, then the candidate who is senior in age will get preference.

Application Fee: The details of application fee to be paid by the candidates are indicated below. Persons with disability (PWD) need not pay any fees.

a) For SC / ST(P) / ST(H): Rs 150/-
b) For all others: Rs 300/-
